Of the nine women who have held the PGWA Championship since it’s inauguration in 1992, arguably none could be considered a genuine pro wrestling living legend equal to the caliber of Leilani Kai. Then again, it’s quite possible that no other woman in the sport today the world over can match Kai’s lofty career heights. But that is a debate for another day.
Having recently returned to the ring wars, Kai is looking to tie up some loose ends…one of them regaining the PGWA belt. Of course, that doesn’t sit too well with the woman who currently wears the strap, Nemesis.
The Living Legend meets the Rising Star, and the ring can only barely contain the action! The physically imposing Nemesis is used to being the one who mauls her opponents, but in this one she’s brutally worked over by the vicious veteran. Then again, Leilani is stymied that her opponent is able to absorb so much punishment and keep coming back for more. And the young champion is fiercely determined to keep her title; kicking out of a pin attempt a half-second before the count of three, Nemesis defiantly roars, “It’s my belt!”
Not surprisingly, given the two women involved, roughhouse tactics soon become commonplace, with everything from closed fist punches and boot chokes to hairpulls and eye rakes. And perhaps just as inevitably, the ending is controversial.
