LADYSPORTS: Hello Madi, and welcome to LadySports! Tell us, when did you first get into the sport:
MADI JEWEL: When I turned 15 years old I jumped at the opportunity to get in the ring, and with my very first bump, my trainer said I’ve got something special!

LS: And who trained you?
MJ: George South and Ricky Morton both took part in training me in the basics.

LS: Who inspired you to become a wrestler, particularly at such a young age?
MJ: Ric Flair caught my eye above everyone else. I loved his style, his charisma, his character. He’s an absolute genius although he’s really just being himself.

LS: What other sports do you have an interest in?
MJ: I also dabble in MMA, mostly grappling. I’ve been doing that since I was a child.

LS: How would you describe yourself in terms of attitude, and what excites you the most outside of the ring?
MJ: I’m a sweetheart…but with the sweet, I do have a sour side. Speaking of sweet, I like baking cakes! EAT CAKE!!! My cake is the best you’ll ever have and nobody can change my mind. You can try to change my mind, but you won’t be successful.

LS: What is your most marked characteristic as a wrestler?
MJ: Cake!

LS: Describe a typical day of training for you. What is most important in your workout?
MJ: Gym days lately have consisted of lots of cardio and lots of reps and light weights. I’m currently trying to make sure I can have all the cake I want.

LS: How would you best describe your ring style?
MJ: I’ve been told I have an Old School style about me, which I take as a compliment.

LS: What is your signature move?
MJ: “EAT CAKE!” My opponents eat cake three times in a row with great wrath in the face!

LS: Have you ever been injured in the ring?
MJ: I’ve been concussed pretty badly, and I’ve also hurt my ankle a couple of times. My knees sound like sandpaper when I climb steps. I guess that all stems from wrestling, hah!

LS: Who has been your toughest opponent?
MJ: Roxy! She and I go way back to when we were training together, and we’ve fought many times. We’ve both come out with wins against each other.

LS: Who are your allies?
MJ: I’m a lone wolf and I keep it that way because nobody can shake and bake as good as me.

LS: What has been your most memorable win to date?
MJ: The time I won the Camel Clutch Championship! Huge victory for me.

LS: And your very worst loss?
MJ: My very first match…I was beaten with a kendo stick across my back many times, and was cheated out of the win.

LS: Who is the one wrestler you would most like to face in the ring, but haven’t yet?
MJ: Madi the American Baddie would be a good match, I think.

LS: What type of match do you enjoy doing the most?
MJ: Old fashioned wrestling!

LS: What sort of reactions do you get from people when they learn you are a wrestler?
MJ: They freak out, and normally ask me how long I’ve been doing it, and sometimes take a pic with me.

LS: What is so special about this sport to you?
MJ: Meeting so many different people and just having fun.

LS: What are your fans like?
MJ: Some are odd, and some are my best friends.

LS: If you had the power, what one thing would you do to improve the sport?
MJ: Involve God more in wrestling. The Bible says to do all things through Christ, which strengthens me. Surely if God was in wrestling, it would be stronger than ever.

LS: Where have you wrestled?
MJ: The Carolinas, Tennessee, Mississippi.

LS: What are your thoughts about women participating in the sport?
MJ: It’s a wonderful thing.

LS: What was your most unforgettable moment in the sport?
MJ: Having a match against Miranda Gordy.

LS: Any regret?
MJ: I wish I would have stayed under George South to complete my training with him.

LS: What would you do if you couldn’t be in wrestling?
MJ: Probably work at Walmart.

LS: What would make you most happy in life?
MJ: Meeting Ric Flair, and wrestling for the WWE.

LS: What is your personal motto?
MJ: “It ain’t for everybody.”

LS: Thank you so much for speaking with us, Madi. Is there anything else you’d like to add?
MJ: I’m blessed and I’m happy for everything I’ve been given.
