Susan Tex Green

by Shiai Mata

These last few weeks, I have heard from some people, and read remarks from others, as to how upset with themselves they are that they didn't make the time to write to Penny Banner and wish her well, while there was still time. Penny loved to hear from the fans, and I have no doubt that their messages were a great comfort to her when she needed it.

There is nothing anyone can do now to remedy that... Penny has left us, and we can't tell her any longer just how much she meant to us, and how we loved her.

But we CAN tell Susan Green what she means to us. The ring legend has been battling a critical illness of her own these last few months. The staph infection which struck her spine robbed her of the use of her legs, and left her in a coma for a short while. She lost over 100 pounds, and still remains in the hospital.

This is not to say that Susan won't be with us for very long! She is a fighter, and she is bound and determined to beat this... and thus far, she is. But it's very slow going. She is undertaking physical therapy to regain the use of her legs, and working to regain some much-needed weight.

But no matter how brave and determined she is, like any of us, she has her ups and downs. And when she's down, I have absolutely no doubt that receiving a card or letter of support would do her a world of good.

I realize that, in the Internet age, the idea of actually writing something on a piece of paper, putting it into an envelope, and stamping it might seem archaic to some (LOL), but it literally takes only a few moments of your time, and will cost you very, very little. But what it pays off in can't be measured.

If you are a fan of Susan's, or of women's wrestling, I ask you to please take the time to write to her. It can mean so much.

Thank you.

Susan has a new address to where you may write:
