Steve Corino's WORLD-1 WRESTLING organization has announced a partnership with the PROFESSIONAL GIRL WRESTLING ASSOCIATION to present the Queen's Cup Tournament at the W-1JOSHI: REBIRTH OR DESTRUCTION live event on Sunday, January 7th!

Eight women will compete in the tourney to determine who will travel to PRO-WRESTLING SUN in Japan to face World-1 Women's Champion Amazing Kong!

Says Corino, "All eight women fighters are ready for action and looking not only for a chance to go to Japan in March for Pro-Wrestling SUN, but also make W-1Joshi a major force in women's professional wrestling." Regarding his organization's alliance with the PGWA for this special event, he added, "We're pleased that W-1-Joshi has partnered with the PGWA to promote our debut event on January the 7th. The Professional Girl Wrestling Association has been in business since 1992, and specializes in bringing proper respect to the sport of women's wrestling."

As part of the co-promotion between the PGWA and Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1, the reigning PGWA Champion, Nikki Roxx, has stated that not only will she win the Queen's Cup at "Rebirth or Destruction", but she has made a public challenge to WORLD-1 Champion Amazing Kong to not even wait for their match in March, but to come back to the United States now and defend her W-1 title against her now. Roxx, apparently, is confident that she will both win the tourney and beat Kong, and thus will travel to Japan next spring as both the PGWA and World-1 Champion, perhaps allowing her to then challenge for a third title belt there. Amazing Kong, who lives in Japan , has not officially commented yet, but she is very aware of the situation. Reports are circulating that Kong has remarked that Roxx, in her estimation, is a wrestler of "tremendous potential," but has said nothing further at this time.

W-1Joshi representative Michael Kehner has announced the brackets for the first round of the Queen's Cup tournament:

• Match 1: Cindy Rogers vs Alere Little Feather
• Match 2: Amber O'Neal vs Allison Danger
• Match 3: Nikki Roxx vs Sara Del Rey
• Match 4: Cheerleader Melissa vs Melissa Stripes

As stated, the winner of the one-day tourney will travel to Japan in the spring to face Amazing Kong for the Pro-Wrestling SUN organization.

PGWA Commissioner Penny Banner says, "We're looking forward to being a part of this very historic event with World-1 Wrestling and Pro-Wrestling SUN, and we're also pleased to be working with such exciting new talent for this tournament. Our goal is to promote the very best in women's professional wrestling, and we feel that this tournament will prove to be a milestone for the sport." Nikki Roxx, Sara Del Rey, Cheerleader Melissa and Amber O'Neal (a former PGWA Rookie of the Year) have all worked with the PGWA, but this will be the first opportunity the organization has to include Cindy Rogers, Alere Little Feather, Allison Danger and Melissa Stripes on its roster.
