Q & A: PINK

"Pink is my name... no one else is the same!"

"You can try and try, you can't beat me... " So sings Pink, the musical artist, in her song "'Cuz I Can". But it might also very well be the motto for a new masked wrestler also named Pink, who is making a big splash for Lucha Libre Femenil down Mexico way!

Very little is known about the hooded hellion known only as Pink, save for the fact that, unlike many of the other ladies of the LLF wearing mascaras, she in fact is not Mexican, but rather is from the USA. Following in the footsteps of such 'gringas' as Christie Ricci and Nikki Roxx, Pink is going over very big with the Mexican fans!

Thankfully, this mysterious newcomer has agreed to speak with LadySports Online, and for the first time anywhere share details of herself with her growing legion of fans!

THE STATS:

LADYSPORTS ONLINE: When did you first get into the sport?
PINK: About three years ago, under another name... I mostly wrestled guys in the States.

LS: Who trained you?
P: Raging Bull Manny Fernandez

LS: What was your biggest influence to become a wrestler?
P: I was always getting in trouble for practicing wrestling moves on my sister!

LS: What other sports do you have an interest in?
P: Baseball and American football.

LS: How would you describe yourself in terms of attitude, personality and strengths?
P: I am a strong-willed female who won't take any crap from anyone trying to keep me from reaching my goals. I am a nice girl, but don't mistake my kindness for weakness. Basically, I do what I want, PERIOD. I am truly outrageous!

LS: Describe a typical day of training for you. What is most important in your workout?
P: I do squats every day, no matter what; my legs are the base of everything I do. And I am always working on my chain wrestling, even if I have to do it by myself.

LS: How would you best describe your ring style?
P: Good old American wrestling!

LS: Did you base your ring style or even your persona on any one particular wrestler?
P: I was trained in the American style, and Manny's style has some Japanese influence in it, so I picked up some of that along the way. I was lucky to have had some training with Milano Collection from Japan as well. My style is very basic but very solid.

LS: What specific signature moves are you best known for?
P: The DDT, Inseguri, Fugiwa Armbar Submission... and I can hit a Sunset Flip from just about anywhere.

LS: Have you ever been injured in the ring?
P: No.

LS: Since you've begun, have you ever had a "Why am I still doing this" moment?
P: No, I love every second of it. People have tried to stop me, but they cannot, and they won't.

LS: Who have been your toughest opponents?
P: Dark Unicorn, Simply Luscious, Tsunami, and La Chacala.

LS: Who are your allies?
P: Perla Negra and Angelica.

LS: What has been your most memorable win?
P: Perla Negra and I beat Chacala and LLF Champion Tsunami in the main event match held on the 4th of July card!

LS: What was your worst loss?
P: I have not lost... ever. I had a very tough match recently with Dark Unicorn, but she was disqualified because she refused to break the submission hold she had on me, and then tried to unmask me. I have a BIG problem with that... and she's going to pay for what she did very soon. No one is going to take my mask!

LS: Who is the one wrestler you would most like to face in the ring, but haven't yet?
P: Nikki Roxx.

LS: What type of match do you enjoy the most?
P: An 'Old School' American-style match.

LS: What sort of reactions do you get from people when they learn you are a wrestler?
P: Complete shock and amazement, because I don't use it as a social vice, only to promote shows.

LS: What is so special about this sport to you?
P: Being able to control the emotions of the fans, and the passion that they have for the sport, especially in Mexico. It's a religion, a way of life.

LS: What are your fans like?
P: Mostly families... good, hardworking people who take the time and the money out of their day to come see me.

LS: If you had the power, what one thing would you do to improve the sport?
P: Make the baq people disappear. Are you hearing me, Dark Unicorn?

LS: Where have you wrestled?
P: I have wrestled in the American South and Southwest, and I am currently residing and working in Monterrey, Mexico.

LS: What are your thoughts on women participating in the sport?
P: Women wrestlers can only add to this amazing sport. We are strong and beauticul, and we can do anything we want. And I said WRESTLERS... not untrained models.

LS: What was your most unforgettable moment in the ring?
P: Beating Tsunami... one of the most powerful women in Mexico... with a Camel Clutch.

LS: Any regrets?
P: None.

LS: What do you suppose you would be doing if you couldn't be in wrestling?
P: I don't think about that. That is not an option for me.

LS: If you could have only one more final match, who would you most want to have as your opponent, and why?
P: Probably Simply Luscious again. We have had some great matches, and I have a ton of respect for her. I got to train with her a few years ago, and our matches are always wars. She was a major female influence on my career.

LS: What is your personal motto?
P: The only person keeping you from reaching your goals is yourself... no one else. "Quit" is not in my vocabulary. And Pink is my name... no one else is the same!

LS: What would make you most happy in life?
P: Wrestling in Japan.

LS: Anything else you'd like to add?
P: Visit me at MYSPACE.COM/LLF_PINK

LS: Pink, thanks for making the time to speak with us!
P: No, thank you!
