Hailing from the Sunshine State is a young lady with big dreams. But while Jelena is working hard to make herself the best wrestler she can be (and no one who trains with Dory Funk, Jr. can do any less), she still hasn't forgotten the thrill of simply being a fan of the sport.
LadySports Online is happy to introduce fans the world over to this exciting new talent.

The Stats:

  • Height: 5'5
  • Weight: 126 lbs

LadySports: When did you first get into the sport?
Jelena: June of 2006

LS: Who did you train with?
J: Dory Funk, Jr. and Dylan Night.

LS: What was your biggest influence to become a wrestler?
J: My biggest influence was to see how happy you make the younger viewers and you give them something to believe in.

LS: What other sports do you have an interest in?
J: I also do Pro Barrel racing.

LS: What are you favorite foods, music, clothes, cars?
J: My favorite music Is Country, I love seafood and steak, I like clothes that are flashy and shiny that stand out, and I am not a big fan of cars... I prefer trucks.

LS: Describe a typical day of training for you. What is most important in your workout?
J: I think the most important part of my workout is jogging. It hhelps the stamina. S: How would you best describe your ring style?
J: I think my ring style is pretty much Old School... I mostly do that kind of stuff.

LS: What moves are you best known for?
J: Armdrags and clotheslines.

LS: What do you remember most about your very first match?
J: How nervous I was! I will never forget that feeling... I just felt like I was on top of the world.

LS: Have you ever been injured in the ring?
J: Yes, I have one time so far. In a match somehow my knee got twisted, and it was bruised really bad, and i walked with a limp for two weeks.

LS: Who have been your toughest opponents?
J: My toughest opponent will have to be the SSCW Woman's Champion, Samantha Steel. She is very tough!

LS: What has been your most memorable win?
J: My most memorable win was my debut match. I won that match, and I think when it's your first match and you win, it's just the best feeling in the world.

LS: What was your worst loss?
J: I think my worst lost was when I was in a title match with Samantha Steel for the SSCW title... and I lost.

LS: Who is the one wrestler you would most like to face in the ring, but haven't yet?
J: Well, down here in Florida there are not very many, but I will say Nikki Roxx. I have watched a few matches of her's, and she seems pretty tough. I'd love a challenge like that!

LS: What type of match do you enjoy the most?
J: I will have to pick between a title match or a No DQ match... they are tough!

LS: What sort of reactions do you get from people when they learn you are a wrestler?
J: I mostly get the look of, "WOW" 'cause everyone thinks I'm too young or too little to be a wrestler. And I just say, "Yeah, maybe... but I'm tough!"

LS: What is so special about this sport to you?
J: I think this sport shows that we are not just girls who want to play dress-up, but that we can go out and kick some butt! I think that helps woman around the world a lot, too.

LS: What are your fans like?
J: Most of my fans are younger. I think I can relate to them better because I was one of them once, watching wrestling and wanting to get the chance to try it out.

LS: If you had the power, what is the one thing you would most like to change about the sport?
J: I think I would want to change the word Diva. I think that word kind of takes the real meaning of what some of the best female wrestlers have built over the years, and makes women wrestlers sound like sissies.

LS: Where have you wrestled?
J: I've wrestled for five promotions so far... XWE, FSPW, OPW, SSCW andFPWA.

LS: What are your thoughts on women participating in the sport?
J: I think it is the best thing, mostly for the fans, 'cause they get to see that women are not just people you push around, but that we are as tough as the guys.

LS: What was your most unforgettable moment in the sport?
J: I think the most unforgettable moment is when you go out there and you hear all of these people getting behind you, and you just feel so special! That is the best feeling, I think.

LS: Any regrets?
J: Never.

LS: What would you do if you couldn't be in wrestling?
J: I think I would still do something that has to do with the sport, like just be a permanent manager, or I would still just go to every show. I could cheer the wrestlers on.

LS: What is your personal motto?
J: If anyone say's you can't make it to the top, that person just gave you more strength to try even harder.

LS: What would make you most happy in life?
J: Being able to win a woman's title for the first time.

LS: Anything else you'd like to add?
J: Follow your dreams... don't let anyone stop you.
