Mickie Knuckles and Josie Go To WAR!

What can be more grueling than having to wage a hammer and tongs, pillar to post match? How about having to do it twice in one night!

That's just what happened to Mickie Knuckles and Josie in Tennessee several weeks back.

Both women were booked to face one another at a show one warm Saturday night in Nashville. Mickie was putting her IWA-Midsouth title on the line against the Chicagoan, who was still smarting over the defeat she suffered the previous time she had fought in Music City USA, courtesy of Maria Montana, and was looking to sooth her ego with a victory over the Irish scrapper.

For her part, Mickie didn't want to simply retain her belt... she wanted to mark her debut in Nashville with a tremendous, no-doubt-about-it victory over the celebrated Josie. Not surprisingly, with two such willful women in extreme opposition to one another, what erupted was a donnybrook that the ring could barely contain!

Perhaps Mickie, who is well-known for her skills as a brawler, was surprised to discover that her opponent could give as good as she took. And perhaps Josie, who is no stranger to dominating opponents, was taken aback by the fact that her adversary refused to stay down for the count. At any rate, the advantage see-sawed between the two, until Mickie managed to roll Josie up for the three count.

But it was a very near thing, and neither wrestler was satisfied with the outcome. Back in the locker room, a rematch challenge was issued by both women almost simultaneously... except it wouldn't be for some nebulous ‘future date', but right that very night!

Both wrestlers knew that the PGWA, in conjunction with the CWA, was holding a live card that evening in Columbia, Tennessee. And so, ignoring the exhaustion they felt and the bruises they already carried, Josie and Mickie jumped into their cars and sped the fifty miles from Nashville to Columbia, arriving at the arena just before the end of the card. There, they told PGWA officials of their intention to wrestle each other again... whether the PGWA sanctioned it or not.

Needless to say, the PGWA did give their approval, in exchange for permission from the ladies to film the match. And the fans in Columbia bore witness to a pier one brawl that very quickly escaped the confines of the ring! Unhappy with her earlier loss, Josie is now bound and determined to beat her opponent. Mickie, now knowing full well just how dangerous a foe Josie is, holds back nothing.

As before, the advantage shifts back and forth between the two wily grapplers, who employ everything from such technical moves as STF's and German Suplexes to the more crude... yet no less effective... forearm smashes and chops. The fans are really worked up into a fever pitch, particularly since they absolute HATE Josie, thanks to her previous match this spring against local darling Susan Morton, and they happily cheer on Mickie to win. Perhaps the jeering distracts Josie, or perhaps it empowers her... but in the end, it's Mickie who manages to seize victory from the jaws of seeming defeat with a brilliantly executed Shining Wizard!

But can this feud be settled with one two battles, even if they were on the same night? Only time will tell... and the PGWA will be proud to bring you these two amazing combatants in action again!
