File this one under 'Embarrassment of Riches': A few of us here at LadySports were talking about some of our favorite matches from the early days of some of our favorite ladies, and we got to talking about this one... and it was only then that we realized that, nearly ten years on, WE HAD NEVER RELEASED IT! ;^(
Mind you, it's not as if this match was so unmemorable, we promptly forgot about it. Just the opposite, actually... we knew from the moment it came to its stunning conclusion that it was a truly outstanding effort from both young wrestlers. We simply had a greater amount of matches than usual to release at that same time; in the hurly-burly, we somehow convinced ourselves we had put this one out to the fans as well, when of course we hadn't.
Well, better late then never!
As you may have guessed, this match features Christie Ricci and Shelby Beach at the very dawn of their respective ring careers. Both were raw talents and hungry for success, anxious to prove themselves. Not surprisingly, they threw themselves at one another with total abandon in this one, holding back nothing as each was determined to advance her neophyte career over the beaten body of the other.
Professional rivalry descends into personal animosity as they battle it out, neither willing to so much as contemplate for a moment letting the other win. This one gets mean, folks!
Today of course, the Mississippi Queen and the Brit Bombshell are two of the most famous women in the PGWA, but here's a very rare chance to see them in their earliest days, in a match that more than sets the stage for their tremendous careers to come! From the very start, they were indeed shining stars.
We may have been tardy in making this available, but don't let yourself hesitate on adding this nearly-lost classic to your collection!
