It's Spring of 2001, and the PGWA presented its biggest live event yet! Some
of the finest talent in women's professional wrestling from two continents
gathered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to battle it out and determine who the
"Real Survivors" would be!

* Riptide defends her PGWA Championship against not one,
but TWO challengers in a Three Way Dance, as both Brandi Alexander and Lexie Fyfe
make their bids for the gold. Let's just say that history was made in this match!
* The Trans-Atlantic Tag Team of Hawaii's Leilani Kai and
England's Pippa L'vinn, with manager Ronnie P. Gossette, took on Britain's Shelby
Beach and Canada's Desiree Petersen in a wild battle!
* The legendary Texas Cowgirl, Susan Green, faced Desiree
Petersen in a match both had been anxious to have for years!
* In a special Southern Belles Club amateur wrestling match,
Amber Holly took on Rita Martin. Amber surprised everyone by using some pro moves in
this grappling bout, and in fact would very shortly thereafter make her pro debut as
Amber O'Neil!
* Prior to the event, there was a press conference that
quickly grew heated as Pippa L'Vinn and Desiree Petersen traded angry barbs, and
that swiftly escalated into an unplanned street fight, with both beauties battling
one another in their regular clothing!
* Additionally, Pippa L'Vinn was presented with the Most
Promising Wrestler Award of 2001, and Leilani Kai was granted the first-ever Penny
Banner Spirit of Excellence Award not only for her long and legendary career, but
also for her mentoring of so many young wrestlers over the years. Penny Banner,
who was then the PGWA's Commissioner, personally selected both women to receive these
awards.
